Our 10 year old granddaughter asked if we could come back for Thanksgiving. Being from Maryland that’s not going to happen but we did love it.

We had an amazing time during our stay in New Braunfels for our son’s wedding. It was the perfect space for our large family coming in from all over. Upon checking in we met the grounds host and they were super friendly and welcoming. We did have a little issue with the air conditioning system but they were prompt and very accommodating to make it right. The only complaint I would have is that there was not nearly enough linens for the amount of guests the house could potentially hold. There were 10 of us with 2 children and we ran out of towels and wash rags. But all in all the house and stay was amazing!

Our extended family of 12 celebrated Thanksgiving at Life is Gruene on the River and had a wonderful time! The home is absolutely fabulous with a well-appointed kitchen, super functional for our large group. The property was gorgeous! We loved walking along the river and it provided a beautiful backdrop for family pictures. Our hosts, who were quick to respond, allowed us to order wood for the fire pit and even recommended a company that delivered allowing us to spend most of our time outside reminiscing around the glow of a warm fire, or playing ping pong and watching football on the outdoor patio. The only drawbacks were the amount of stairs for those with bad knees, and the downstairs twin bedroom and one single queen room are only accessible by the outdoor staircase, although both rooms are self-contained with full bathrooms and the stairs are very well lit. This was not an issue for us as our “kids” are now college age and young adults. We absolutely would stay here again!

This house was the perfect spot for our family gathering with multiple generations. We really loved how all the rooms were separated so everyone felt like they had their own space. kids loved their time on the river.

This house met all of our needs and then some. There is so much room and places for people to sleep. The outdoor space is everything you could hope for, not to mention the location on the river is truly magical. Great place! Can’t wait to come back!

I had the pleasure of staying here for my bachelorette party with 14 of my girlfriends, and it was absolutely incredible! The house is beautiful, thoughtfully decorated, and perfectly located for a fun day and night out in Gruene. We enjoyed every part of the property, including the fire pit, which was perfect for roasting s'mores (just a heads-up: you'll need to bring your own firewood). While we didn’t initially realize that two of the rooms were downstairs, it actually worked out great for the guests who wanted a bit more privacy and a quiet retreat when turning in early. The suites were very nice. There are quite a few house rules and additional charges that we hadn’t encountered before with Airbnb, but after seeing how impeccably maintained and well-equipped the home is, they made sense. I would absolutely stay here again, it was well worth the price and more! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful property. We hope to come back again soon!

This house could not be more perfect for our group of 20 girls. Fully stocked kitchen, coffee bar and more than enough towels, linens, and bed. This house is only 1 mile from Gruene and right off the river - you can float up to the back porch! It could not have been more perfect!

Every last detail was perfect! We brought couples from Montana, New Hampshire, Alabama, Florida, and Arkansas into New Braunfels for an AdvoCare team incentive trip. They were not only treated to the utmost in Texas hospitality, but a picturesque home with all the perfect touches including gorgeous Fall decor, movies, games, and quaint places to sit, relax, and listen to the river. They were blown away and so were we! Amazing customer service by the caretakers and owners as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The Mills Family was back again in 2017 for our annual river trip! And Life is Gruene is the perfect home for our group. It has many bedrooms and a wonderful kitchen. We love to cook and this a perfect gathering area. The river front is without equal in New Braunfels in our opinion. We love to sit on the banks and watch the floaters go by. We appreciate the on site caretakers, the ice maker and the furnishing updates made at the house this year. You won't find better!

This rental is perfect for families. There's plenty of sleeping space and it is immaculate. It is decorated beautifully and has a fully equipped kitchen. It's kid-friendly with plenty to do right there at the house -- tubing, ping pong, foosball, basketball, flat screen tv's inside and out, fire pit, etc. It's also very private and only a mile from Gruene. There were 11 of us for a ladies get-away and everyone loved this place. We plan on making it an annual event!

My extended family from Texas, Washington DC and Virginia all stayed at this amazing house for the weekend. The kids enjoyed fishing in the river, playing basketball and ping-pong and the adults loved sitting by the fire listening to the river flow by. We stayed for the first time and had a full house including kids. It went so well and I owe a lot of that to the house! It was so nice, clean, cute, and accommodating! Location was perfect. Our kids were all under the age of 4 and the shallow river bed was perfect for them and us! While the kids napped, we could relax in our river chairs and watch floaters go by. Easy access to Gruene was a plus too! Highly recommend and would love to go back.

Life is Gruene is a great and convenient location for anything you want to do around New Braunfels. However, you don't need to leave the property in order to have a perfect day on the river. The house is comfortable, beautifully decorated, and has all the amenities and entertainment anyone could need. I look forward to renting this house again.

I’m late leaving this review, but we had such a great time, I had to come back and say thank you! I’ve stayed in a lot of homes, but this is one of the most beautiful, well appointed homes I’ve ever had the pleasure of renting. It’s every bit as beautiful as it looks in the pics. There are lots of activities for kids, and adults won’t want to leave the river. It’s peaceful and just lovely. We’ll be back!

What an awesome house and location for our trip to Gruene! I'm almost hesitant to heap its due praise on here for fear it will be harder and/or more expensive to book in the future. The house can probably accommodate close to 18 but we found it to be ideal for our party of 14 as no one was forced to double up in beds other than couples who wanted to. Everything in the house was great, and they even went above and beyond what most rentals provide with items like coffee, some toiletries, detergents, etc. The backyard river access is by far the highlight of the property as it's a beautiful and relaxing place to gather in the afternoon before dinners. We didn't spend a lot of time at the property but it would be ideal for a large group that prefers to cook a lot of their meals and just hang around the house during the day. All in all it was one of the best and easiest rental experiences I've ever had and I would highly recommend this house and Property Management group to anyone!

This house served as home base for my family reunion. It was the perfect size and very accommodating for everyone who attended. The access to the river was such fun for the kids who rode up and down the small rapids that you can access from the shore. The kitchen is fully equipped. The beds were comfortable. The deck space allows for a lot of different seating options. The ping pong table was a huge it. I cannot say enough good things about this house. It is everything I hoped it would be and so much more. I highly recommend it.

We brought together two generations of family for a holiday weekend retreat and this was the perfect place for our families to spend time together. There was something for every age, ping pong and basketball were big hits, watching and listening to the river, and sitting around the fire at night. This place was beautiful! Perfect for our family of 20. Everything was comfortable - beds, pillows, furniture. The hosts even put up Thanksgiving decorations all over the house for us. The fire pit was also wonderful. We would stay here again and again and again!

The house fit all of our needs, and the kids had a wonderful time making smores, playing ping pong, and playing in the river. We had 12 girls (okay, 30+ year old ladies) in Gruene for my sister's bachelorette weekend. We stayed at Life is Gruene Friday through Sunday morning. The house was perfect. First of all, the price was reasonable, so everyone was able to come without anyone opting out for budget reasons. Second of all, the reasonable price did not mean we had to sacrifice in quality of the house. The beds, linens, decor, even kitchen appliances and supplies were definitely of high quality. There were sufficient beds for everyone (note: the bunkbeds are pretty open to the common area, so put your late to bed/early risers there). And there was plenty of great common space for us to hang out over a mimosa brunch in the kitchen, a honeymoon shower in the living room, followed by a late-night gossip sesh and dance party down by the river around the fire pit. The location was great, as we were able to take ubers to the Gristmill and Gruene Hall for a night out. Word to the wise though, Ubers don't run very often the later into the night you go, so some of us actually walked back which was okay, but I wouldn't recommend. On Saturday, we did a tube float down the river with the Rockin R, which is so close they actually came right to the house to pick us up and drop us off in their bus. We realized later that we had actually floated right behind the house! The only thing I'll say was less than perfect was the "couch room" as we called it- it's downstairs separate from the house on it's own a/c. The listing counts these couches as extra beds, but luckily we weren't planning to utilize it since we had plenty of beds otherwise. However, the room did have a musty smell to it, probably from the a/c unit, which the owner said they would look into, so knowing how great they were to deal with I'm sure it's already remedied. I'm just glad we didn't need that space for our weekend. Even though we didn't have any kiddos with us this weekend, I think the house would also work great for a family reunion type event. They had lots of games downstairs: basketball hoop and ball, foosball, etc. All in all, great house, great people to work with, and would definitely rent again!

I hosted a spiritual women's retreat at Life is Gruene & it was fabulous. There were fifteen of us & there was plenty of room in the house, around the fire pit, & on the beach area down by the river. We even did yoga as a group on the patio are above the riverbank... The house is beautifully decorated & has everything you need. The coffee bar is a great luxury & a great way to start a new day in that peaceful place. The beds are comfortable, the linens are nice, the grounds are clean & beautifully landscaped. This is just the perfect spot for any group gathering. I highly recommend & I will be back!! Thanks Kaprice for orchestrating a perfect weekend for us. 😊

I stayed at this house for a Bachelorette and to echo Kirsten D's comments everything was wonderful. The house was clean, the appliances were nice and the space is unique in a really fun setting. The real reason I also felt compelled to follow up, though, is because upon returning home from my trip, I realized that I left a hat at the house. I reached out through the site and Kaprice returned my query immediately. My hat was located and sent to me immediately in perfect condition. When I realized I left it behind I assumed it was gone forever, but my interaction with this house/owners/manager proved the value of airbnb and working with the right people. Cannot say enough good things.

I just got back from a girl's trip to Gruene Texas. Seven of us stayed in the Life is Gruene home. The owner did a beautiful job decorating the home. We cooked three meals in the very well equipped kitchen. Both nights we built a fire outside and enjoyed the sounds of the rushing river. The Internet can not fully capture the beauty of the river. It was gorgeous!!! We had fun during the day playing cards on the tables outside. We made memories we will cherish for a lifetime.

The house is right on the Guadalupe river. Is fully furnished with plenty of room for multiple families. We spent the days floating the river and hanging out on the river right behind the house. Great place to share with a large or multiple families. Well equipped, beautifully decorated and great layout for a relaxing get away. Seeing the deer feeding at night was a nice bonus. The owner was always super helpful and accessible leading up to the trip, which was great while planning. We definitely plan to go back! We really enjoyed how close the home is situated to all the main New Braunfels attractions, while still feeling very private and nestled amongst the trees.

The Life is Gruene house was absolutely perfect! The decorations, outside furniture, and of course it's location on the river, made this house perfect for our adult getaway!!! Awesome! However, there was a little mouse who wad quite the host! He came from the laundry room and is quite familiar with the kitchen. He peeked out every now and then to check on us, lol. Just wanted you to know. We really enjoyed our stay!

I invited 17 of our closest friends to surprise my husband on his birthday. The house was so amazing and he loved the surprise, especially with all our friends! We visited My Lady Bar and went to Gruene Hall to listen to one of his favorite bands. The house is laid out so well that we never felt squashed. I could not imagine a more spectacular property as well. The fire pit area was so relaxing, and we enjoyed two fires in the evenings. We met the owner and she is amazing as well! We will definitely go back to this property, maybe for my birthday this May! We just loved being there! Thank you so much for such a wonderful vacation and birthday celebration!

This is our second time to rent this vacation home and it was another great experience! The process of booking and check-in is very easy. Responses within minutes for any question we had in preparation and during the trip - everyone is very attentive and so accommodating! The house is just perfect for our large crew and we love the river access. It’s a great spot to be able to float, ride the rapids, or sit in the shade. Highly recommend!

Wonderful get away, beautiful and scenic property, indoors a bit tricky for larger groups to gather with limited seating but the really wonderful part of this property sits outside not inside. A bit silly to charge $20 for bundles of wood for fire pit but hey, if you can get it go for it!

This house was perfect for a group of 12 guys. Large kitchen with plenty of cookware, plenty of beds, many places to hang out and relax, adequate parking and nice bathrooms. The river frontage is scenic and has easy access. And, of course, you can't beat the location with proximity to Gruene and New Braunfels. We will definitely be back.

The house is wonderful, with many beds, great kitchen for big meals, plenty of indoor seating, an amazing back porch around a fire pit, ping pong, foosball, and basketball! But none of this compares to the back yard! You walk down stone steps to the bank of the river and are blown away! Its right on a double bend of the river, so the best rapids are right there in front of you! The owner, property manager, and caretakers were all extremely easy to contact and very responsive. The only problem were some yellowjackets that were living on the back porch, but the caretaker came quickly and took care of them. I can't recommend this place enough! Next time I have a group of 15 on a vacation, I'm definitely booking this house again!

This home is a wonderful place to stay in the heart of Gruene, TX. We had a large corporate group stay here and it worked perfectly for what we needed. The fire pit and outdoor areas are a huge plus! Very nice that we could go to restaurants and shopping right up the road. The living room is a bit smaller than it appears in the photos, but the open floor plan made it ideal for conversations. We held our company annual retreat here and I couldnt have asked for a better venue. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space, so important for everyone to feel comfortable in a business setting. The communal living space was plenty large enough to house our meeting and living needs. The firepit was a great place to connect at night and share stories and memories and we were just minutes away from historic downtown Gruene for a fun night out.

We had an amazing time at this rental! We had decided to rent a home in Gruene Texas for the Holiday and couldn’t be more pleased. The house was very clean and nicely decorated. We were worried about not having a Christmas Tree to put our gifts under but with much surprise there was a beautiful tree when we arrived. The house was also nicely decorated throughout with Christmas Decor. I feel that they went above and beyond by doing this. The most breath taking was the outdoors! An amazing view of the Guadalupe River. We enjoyed sitting by the fire in the evenings and enjoying the atmosphere and each other’s company. I highly recommend this rental.

This house was built by my father in law. My daughters used to love wading in the river by the house when they were little. Loved coming back here with them now that they are all grown up. Great family time. The hosts were amazing and made us feel right at home.

The owner of this property has made sure that guests have everything they need for a great getaway. The house is so fully equipped that it makes you feel as if you never left home. We had a wonderful stay at this property! The house was very nice and plenty of room for our whole extended family of 17 people. The management was very helpful and quick to respond in preparation for the trip and checking in on us while we were there. The location is PERFECT to have easy access to the river, shaded areas and shallow water for little ones, deeper water for swimming and rapids for fun! We are already planning to book this same property for next summer!

The house was a little smaller than what the pics showed but very nice! We had 15 (2 that were 2 and under) and seemed to have enough room for everyone. Loved the outdoor tv (football of course), and the fire pit was utilized every night (be sure you bring your own wood!).....the TVs were a little hard to figure out, but once we found the regular channels with our football games, all was good. We always leave a tip for the housekeepers, but we learned just before checking out that we were required to strip all beds and towels which we found a little unusual for what we were paying for the house, so we opted not to leave any extra gratuity. Beautiful property that was perfect for our group to hang out and "socially distance" in the outdoor areas. The adults and teens loved being on the river, sitting by the fire and we even had a shrimp boil and played family games outdoors. Highly recommend this house.
